Discounting works once. Repeated, it teaches guests to book late and cheap. There are better levers for soft dates.
Work the shoulder dates, not the whole season
Identify the specific soft dates from your pickup report and act only on those. Blanket season-wide reductions give away revenue on dates that would have sold anyway.
Use value instead of price
Added-value offers protect the rate while still improving conversion.
- Breakfast or one meal included
- Late checkout or early check-in
- Third-night or extended-stay offers
- Package rates around local experiences
Broaden the demand base
Midweek corporate, small groups, long-stay guests and weekend leisure each behave differently. Adjusting rates and stay rules per segment fills gaps that a single public rate cannot.
